Dragon Age 2 Trailer
Bioware has released the trailer for Dragon Age 2 at Gamescon. We don't get to see any gameplay, but the action probably hints at what some of the moves are going to look like.
Flemeth's voice actor seems to return as the narrator for this trailer, and maybe for the game itself. And I must say, I'm really liking that beard.
"The rise to power" which I'm assuming is the release date, is March 8th.

E3 Rumor: Bioware To Reveal Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3?

UPDATE: EA has come out to say that these rumors are completely false, and that we will not see Mass Effect 3 or Dragon Age 2 at this year's E3.
A rumor has begun to circulate the web saying that two of Bioware's major franchises will have their next installments showcased at this years E3. The report stems back to an interactive showcase map that Gamespot.com posted for the different developers. Both games were listed under EA's showcase schedule, however no announcement has been made by other sites or by the studios involved.
While it is certainly reasonable to expect a glimpse for Dragon Age 2, which will supposedly be released early next year, it seems strange to get a glimpse at Mass Effect 3 this early into development. Lead designer Casey Hudson even claimed last month that fans will have to wait several more months before the first details regarding the sequel are released.
I guess RPG fans will just have to wait and see if this rumor proves to be true or not.

Dragon Age Anime Announced

Bioware is slowly becoming the most successful and influential video game studio in the industry. With such titles as The Old Republic, Mass Effect, and Dragon Age taking the world by storm, Bioware has changed the way that storytelling is approached in video games.
The critically acclaimed company announced last month that production had begun on a film adaptation to the science fiction epic Mass Effect. Today, Bioware released further plans to expand their franchises into different forms of media. According to aintitcool.com, Bioware along with FUNimation plans to release an anime adaptation of their fantasy RPG Dragon Age some time next year.
Here is the press release listed on the site:
BioWare and FUNimation Entertainment will be collaborating on an anime movie adaptation of well regarded fantasy RPG Dragon Age.
Production of the Dragon Age anime movie is slated to begin this month with a home video release in 2011. Executive producing the film are BioWare's Executive Producer Mark Darrah and Creative Director Mike Laidlaw, as well as FUNimation's president and CEO Gen Fukunaga and Director of Original Entertainment Chris Moujaes.
Dragon Age has been selected as the first title in FUNimation's slate of major anime movies to be developed through FUNimation's Original Entertainment team since the announcement of the company's co-production initiative in November 2009.
"Dark heroic fantasy" Dragon Age: Origins, reminiscent of works like George R.R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire, allowed the player to explore the history of a Human Noble, Mage, Dalish Elf, City Elf, Dwarf Commoner or Dwarf Noble before taking control of a Grey Warden in their campaign to revived Darkspawn.

Mass Effect 2 DLC: Zaeed- Review

Just like with Dragon Age: Origins, Bioware has included a DLC pack that introduces a new team member for your roleplaying adventures. This time we got Zaeed Massani, a scarred mercenary that sounds like that shark guy that stood in for Mrs. Puff in that one Spongebob episode. Is Zaeed a worthy adaptation to your team? Does he provide the fun gameplay the squadmates do?
Story
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zaeed Massani sticks out among the Mass Effect 2 cast for being surprisingly underdeveloped. He doesn't have a recruitment mission, you just meet him on Omega and he joins him. He also doesn't have any dialogue conversations outside of his two missions. You can visit him in his cabin, but he only shoots you one liners. However, he gains a surprising personality during his loyalty mission, where you and him come to terms. The confrontations between Shepard and Zaeed have surprising depth, and tension. Zaeed also has an interesting tie to one of the minor villains in the game, which plays into the plot nicely. Zaeed also can play a dramatic role in the end run if you let him.
+Poignant loyalty mission
+Fits well into story
-No dialogue conversations
-No evolution outside of mission
Score: 25/40
Gameplay
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zaeed plays like your standard soldier character. He doesn't really bring any true combat upgrades to the battle scene, his powers could easily be interchanged with that of Garrus or Jacob. His loyalty mission however is surprisingly fun to play, and ranks as one of the better ones out of the eleven possible quests.
+Fun loyalty mission
-Doesn't add much to gameplay
Score: 30/40
Graphics
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zaeed himself is a strange character to look at. His two pupils are different colors from eachother which is an interesting idea but looks bizarre graphically. His scars also make his facial expressions seem stiff and and unnatural. However, the loyalty mission that accompanies Zaeed has a surprisingly interesting atmosphere and is fun to explore.
Score: 8/10
Sound
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Zaeed's voice acting is well done and interesting, but the voice actor they chose has an incredibly distinct voice and I can't help but be reminded of previous roles hes taken. However, this is a trivial complaint to more polished sound effects, powerful voice acting, and great score by Jack Wall.
+Good voice acting
+Polished Sound effects
+Jack Wall's score.
Score: 10/10
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overall
Zaeed is a fun but flawed DLC. Like the Normandy Crash Site its free with a purchase of the game, so you might as well download him, and it does add a good solid hour of gameplay to the final product.
Aggregate/Overall Score: 73/100

New Dragon Age Expansion Announced
Damn you Bioware. Damn you for sucking away every last inch of free time that I have. You draw me in with your Mass Effect 2 just as I am about to finish Dragon Age, and then you post this?!?
Well, anyways. It looks pretty cool. The story takes place after the events of Dragon Age Origins and follows your character, or new Warden, as they try to rebuild the ranks of the Grey Wardens and defeat the remaining Darkspawn. Offering a new 15 hour campaign this looks like it'll be well worth the price.
