Superman Director Announced?

Superman has had a mixed film career. Although the first two films are seen as classics in several days, many of the newer films have been critically panned and poorly recieved by the public. However, the same could be said about the earlier Batman films before Christopher Nolan revamped the series in last decades Batman Begins. Now Nolan is looking to take the world's most famous super hero to a modern audience. The Man of Steel, which is planned for a 2012 release will be produced by Nolan.
Today information has been linked by an insider source to media site IGN.com. Apparently, Christopher Columbus (director for the first two Harry Potter) films will most likely direct the latest rendition of the famous character.
The script is also being written by writer David Goyer (Batman Begins).

Batman 3 and Superman Gear Up

It is a well known fact that in the summer of 2008 a little superhero film known as The Dark Knight took the film world by storm. Becoming a renowned critical and financial success, The Dark Knight's leading actor Heath Ledger won an Academy Award for his role as the sinister Joker.
However, despite massive speculation the Joker will not be returning as the villain in the newest Batman film. Christopher Nolan, the director of the Bataman blockbuster, told Empire Magazine that he is not comfortable with replacing Heath Ledger, who died during the filming of The Dark Knight.
Nolan also mentioned that he has begun working on the script and knows how the series will end: "My brother is working on the screenplay. We came up with a story that we are very excited about. We particularly like where we are taking the characters and what the ending is... There are things for me to be very excited about in addressing the characters again."
Although Nolan has not officially signed on to direct the sequel, he will stil be heavily involved in the next Batman film along with the upcoming Superman reboot. This sequel to the Man of Steel is due for release in 2012, the same year as the new Batman film. However, Nolan stressed that there will not be a connection between the two legendary superheroes like the new Marvel films.

New Superhero Film Buzz

Everyone loves super heroes. Well everyone, but Gormy. With the summer season drawing closer, and the big releases for this year and next moving into new stages of production we are getting tons of news ranging from the Man of Steel, Thor, to Captain America.
First off, we have The Man of Steel, this new Superman film penned by Dark Knight writer David Goyer will have a new dark tone and try to do what The Dark Knight did for Batman. Io9.com reports: "Goyer's story involves Luthor and Brainiac. It is NOT an origin and assumes audiences already know about Lois, Clark, Jimmy and Perry. I know the Daily Planet is struggling due to the internet. And I know it sets up a huge Kryptonian mythology."

Marvel's own godly hero, Thor, also began principal photography this week and is penned for a may release next year. Also, some strange artwork has appeared on the internet that seems to be concept art for the Thor costume.
Finally, casting has begun for the Captain America film, keep your fingers crossed folks.
