Its that time again. Time for me to go through the latest movie trailers, and well review them.

Yes, one of these was posted earlier, but hey what you gonna do about it. Gotta get this out of the way before that thing called Comic Con brings in a whole new slew of trailers.

1. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 Trailer
------------------------------------------------------

Now, I'm aware we will be seeing the actual product in a few days. However, one cannot deny that this trailer brims of marketing goodness. Even for non fans of the franchise, this preview at the film series's final installment. Special effects, spoilers, and a fantastic score give any viewer chills.

Score: A

2. Brave
-------------------------------

Here we have Disney Pixar's Brave. It may be the fact that fans of the stellar animation studio are looking for hope following this year's travesty, Cars 2, but the trailer for Brave works. The animation is stunning, and the glimpse we get at the world Pixar creates is tantalizing. Even more exciting is the idea that Pixar is tackling a Brothers Grimm style fairy tale. That has to be exciting to you.

Score: -A

3. Rise of the Planet of the Apes
--------------------------------------

Ridiculous title aside, this trailer establishes something that the entire marketing campaign for this prequel has been, a deep haunting atmosphere. Caesar, rendered through stunning technology, has already become the emotional focal point for the film. If the film is as strong as these trailers make it seem, than we may have the strongest Planet of the Apes film since the original. Though it still doesn't make sense how about fifty apes can take overall of Los Angeles...

Score: -A

4. Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol
----------------------------------------

Mission Impossible Ghost Protocol seems to be more of the same for the Tom Cruise action franchise. However, that is not necessarily a bad thing when it comes to this franchise that is not necessarily a bad thing. There are hints at some interesting action set pieces, and a plot that strays slightly from the norm. I'm still not completely sold, though.

Score: B

5. Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part 1
------------------------------------

The reason why this film has been split in half is still a mystery to many. Despite the fan service, this trailer really does nothing. Sure, they get married. What else happens? This trailer isn't gonna help. There's alot of vampire sex, and some boy fighting. Nothing else.

Score: D+

6. The Adventures of Tintin
---------------------------------

Although its animations style requires some adjusting, there's little doubt that Tintin is a visual marvel. It is also to see a slightly edgy animated adventure aimed at the all ages demographic. With the promising names of Peter Jackson, Steven Spielberg, and Edgar Wright it's pretty easy to get excited.

Score: B+

While Dracula may not actually be joining the X-men anytime soon, it appears that yet another star has been added to the already expansive X-men:First Class cast.

According to Deadline New York, Edi Gathegi, who played the vampire Laurent in the first two Twilight movies, has been cast as the mutant Darwin for the upcoming Matthew Vaughn directed prequel. Darwin stands about among mutants for having the power of reactive evolution, which allows him to adapt to any environment or situation.

X-men: First Class is due out for release June 3 2011.

There must have been a reason for Nick to bring a girl onto the AC team, and now, I am serving my purpose.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen of the Internet, I saw Eclipse.

Well...it didn't kill me to see it. I didn't really enjoy it, but it didn't kill me.

Eclipse continues the saga of Bella Swan, her sparkly vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen, her werewolf best friend, Jacob Black, and their love triangle. In the last movie, the Volturi (the Italian vampire ruling body) said that Bella had to be turned into a vampire or turned into dinner. And with the pissed-off ex-mate of James (who got killed in the first movie) on Bella's trail, it looks like dinner is a viable end. Victoria has created an army of newborn vampires to take down the Cullen clan and exact her revenge on Bella and Edward. So in order to protect the girl they both adore, Edward and Jacob strike up a temporary alliance to kick some newborn ass.

Out of all the talented actors and actresses in the acting world, they had to pick some of the most untalented and boring people on the planet to play characters who are supposed to be consumed with emotion. Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale, has the acting skills of a toothpick, and even despite the fact that he has more lines in Eclipse than he had in the other two movies, he completely fails to elicit any emotional sympathy from anyone. Also, with the exception of Taylor Lautner, none of them are particularly good-looking, which they are supposed to be. For instance, Nikki Reed, playing the "devastatingly beautiful" Rosalie Hale, isn't even remotely pretty. And for some reason, these actors like to take long pauses in the most awkward places in a sentence. And another thing that bothers me...why are these two guys so hell-bent on getting Bella? She has no personality, she's whiny, wishy-washy, and generally irritating! Is that really what guys look for in a girl? There is no chemistry whatsoever in this movie...a romance film...there's a problem. Another thing. Why was Dakota Fanning even considered for a part? Her "badassness" is utterly comical and I don't buy it for a second. This movie had an awful lot of backstory and exposition and yet, none of the backstory sequences were particularly convincing or groundbreaking in any way.

On the upside, Taylor Lautner's near-perpetual lack of shirt was a big added plus. Also, the casting of the new Victoria was a great change from Rachelle Leferve. The choreography of the fight scene between the newborns and the monsters of Forks was pretty cool and the special effects got a bit more special. The only scene that was actually entertaining was the conversation between Edward and Jacob before the battle in which they discuss how they could have been friends...if they weren't sworn natural enemies and rivals in love.

All in all, Eclipse was very consistent. It, like its predecessors, was consistently poor. While slightly better than New Moon and leaps and bounds better than Twilight, Eclipse was essentially a fan movie and an excuse to see Taylor Lautner shirtless.

Movie grade: D

Well, that's all I really have to say on the subject.

Happy geeking!
