So after much soul searching, and reading over our single suggestion we recieved, the fate of Artificial Continuum has been decided.

What, you ask, will become of this site? Will it die? Will it change itself completely? Well..the answer is neither.

AC will be repurposed into a site that runs off features and commentaries rather than a focus on news. Some of the most popular features on our site have been the weekly web video topic, and our reviews. These will be expanded upon, and both will be seen in weekly features.

Our new catalogue of content will include:

Monday: Weekly Web Video Topic ( A feature that will be completely identical to our web video topic of last year)

Wednesday: Nick's Top Ten (This one came as a surprise. However, when I went back and reviewed our view stats on our posts. Some of the most popular posts I made on the sites were actually my top ten countdowns. So now every Wednesday will feature a top ten countdown ranging across all geekdom.)

Friday: News Round Up (We can't forget the news! We have to keep the masses informed! Every Friday will now contain a round up of some of the most interesting, bizarre, and important announcements across geekdom.)

Every other week will also feature a round up review of released movie trailers.

I will also continue movie reviews and possibly reviews of Clone Wars, but on a far less scheduled basis.

I hope you all are as excited for this change of pace as I am. Look forward to seeing you in the coming months.

Hello everyone,

Reboots are rather popular these days. X-men just had one a few weeks ago. DC's got one planned for next year, and we have major studios rebooting properties all the way down the line. In other words, the status quo has to change, because to quote Dr. Horrible "the satus is not quo".

Anyways, what is this rambling post about? It's about a certain something that's been noticed by many people. Well, many people being the one or two people that read this blog. Artificial Continuum has exeperienced a lot of down time. In fact, way too much downtime.

There are lots of reasons why AC has been dormant for many months. This mainly has to due that our multiple writers have lives that are ultimatley more important than this blog. However, alot of the problems simply came from the fact that our staff (and mostly myself) tried to tackle too large a subject matter for a single blog. Covering all media news with a handful of statt worked when time was a plenty and our lives were simple.

However, this does not mean that AC is dead. On the contrary, I have made this post to simply say that the staff of AC has decided to retool the focus of the blog. We have had multiple suggestions ranging from a stronger focus on reviews or commentaries, a focus soley on a certain form of media, or a certain genre.

So dear (3) readers, I have a request of you. Please tell us: what do you like from AC? What do you want to see more of? What do you want to see less of? What features should we expand? What should we throw down the imaginary internet dumpster? Any and all suggestions are welcome. So comment below.

Thanks,

Nick

That's right folks. After almost of a month inactivity, Artificial Continuum is back from the dead. Following a chaotic and busy October, we now enter into the relative peace of November. Which means more time to post, blog etc. Look for more news reviews etc.

It's Monday! And although the school year has started and activity on the site has dipped, I still have found time to deliver you guys your weekly taste of not so funny web videos...

1. Geek And Gamer Girls
--------------------------

Geek and Gamer Girls Song - Watch more Funny Videos

You know that music vidoe where Katy Perry destroys your childhood memories of Candyland? We now have a nerd version, which is not only a better song but also features a rapping Seth Green.

2. Narwhals..
------------------

No, its not really a classic. But its got narwhals.

3. Inception Acapella Score
----------------------------

Perhaps the most accurate description of the Inception soundtrack yet..

It's Labor Day! And the end of the summer has arrived, while this means the beginning of the school year and a decline in Artificial Continuum updates, it does mean we get this weeks addition of Around The Web.

1. Make Sure the Kids Are Sleeping Before...
--------------------------------------------

Kids say the darndest things...

2. Classic Viral: I'm Gonna Kick His Ask
-------------------------------------------

I sense a running theme here...will it continue on to the third video?

3. Johnny Depp In Burtonland
-----------------------------------------

Guess not....
Thursday, August 12, 2010
Yes. I do have a life outside of AC. I will be out of town for the next week and will be unable to run this site adequately. You will see a few updates, but not close to the normal amount you see during weekdays.
Tuesday, August 10, 2010
Here we go. I apologize for the lack of posts recently. There have not been many news updates, and yesterday was a little chaotic. Today, is also my birthday (Yay! Silent applause) so I will probably will not be able to post much again.

1. Huntsville Rapist
----------------------------------------

Here is a video already taking the intenret by storm. You know you've become a meme when you have already have a popular auto tune remix.

2. Classic Viral: Leprechaun in Mobile, Alabama
------------------------------------------

Who all see the Leprechaun say yeah!

3. Fiber
-------------------------------------

Hello everyone. First off, I must apologize for the relative inactivity on the site as of late. Between Otakon and getting my wisdom teeth pulled I havent had much time to keep the site running up to speed. Although there wasn't really any big nerd news to break over these past few days, I have fallen behind in keeping up on the few announcements that WERE made. Regardless, here are this weeks batch of moderately funny web videos.

1. Cows and Cows and Cows
--------------------------------------------------------------------

There are few words to describe this weird music video that has been taking the web by storm. Basically its about two minutes of funky, and really disturbing cow dancing...Yet its oddly entrancing. Watch at your own risk.

2.Classic Viral: To Isengard
-------------------------------------------------------------------

Can you believe I just discovered this today? Well here we go, the classic and catchy Lord of the Rings electronic remix.

3. Leaked Harry Potter Scene
---------------------------------------------------------------

This video makes me laugh for several reasons. Not only is it pretty clever, and well edited, it also parodies one of the lamest movie endings I can remember seeing in recent memory. Honestly, go back and watch the Chamber of Secrets and tell me why it ends the way it does. Its corny, unnecessary, and cheaply emotional.

Hello everyone,

After a long break the podcast has returned to Artificial Continuum. In this latest episode Nick, John, Vince, Luke, and new comers Matt and Zach discuss numerous new announcements in the world of manga, anime, video games, and movies. Oh, and they cause some chaos at the same time.

Be sure to check it out at jellycast.com and iTunes.

There must have been a reason for Nick to bring a girl onto the AC team, and now, I am serving my purpose.

That's right, ladies and gentlemen of the Internet, I saw Eclipse.

Well...it didn't kill me to see it. I didn't really enjoy it, but it didn't kill me.

Eclipse continues the saga of Bella Swan, her sparkly vampire boyfriend, Edward Cullen, her werewolf best friend, Jacob Black, and their love triangle. In the last movie, the Volturi (the Italian vampire ruling body) said that Bella had to be turned into a vampire or turned into dinner. And with the pissed-off ex-mate of James (who got killed in the first movie) on Bella's trail, it looks like dinner is a viable end. Victoria has created an army of newborn vampires to take down the Cullen clan and exact her revenge on Bella and Edward. So in order to protect the girl they both adore, Edward and Jacob strike up a temporary alliance to kick some newborn ass.

Out of all the talented actors and actresses in the acting world, they had to pick some of the most untalented and boring people on the planet to play characters who are supposed to be consumed with emotion. Jackson Rathbone, who plays Jasper Hale, has the acting skills of a toothpick, and even despite the fact that he has more lines in Eclipse than he had in the other two movies, he completely fails to elicit any emotional sympathy from anyone. Also, with the exception of Taylor Lautner, none of them are particularly good-looking, which they are supposed to be. For instance, Nikki Reed, playing the "devastatingly beautiful" Rosalie Hale, isn't even remotely pretty. And for some reason, these actors like to take long pauses in the most awkward places in a sentence. And another thing that bothers me...why are these two guys so hell-bent on getting Bella? She has no personality, she's whiny, wishy-washy, and generally irritating! Is that really what guys look for in a girl? There is no chemistry whatsoever in this movie...a romance film...there's a problem. Another thing. Why was Dakota Fanning even considered for a part? Her "badassness" is utterly comical and I don't buy it for a second. This movie had an awful lot of backstory and exposition and yet, none of the backstory sequences were particularly convincing or groundbreaking in any way.

On the upside, Taylor Lautner's near-perpetual lack of shirt was a big added plus. Also, the casting of the new Victoria was a great change from Rachelle Leferve. The choreography of the fight scene between the newborns and the monsters of Forks was pretty cool and the special effects got a bit more special. The only scene that was actually entertaining was the conversation between Edward and Jacob before the battle in which they discuss how they could have been friends...if they weren't sworn natural enemies and rivals in love.

All in all, Eclipse was very consistent. It, like its predecessors, was consistently poor. While slightly better than New Moon and leaps and bounds better than Twilight, Eclipse was essentially a fan movie and an excuse to see Taylor Lautner shirtless.

Movie grade: D

Well, that's all I really have to say on the subject.

Happy geeking!

As many of you may be wondering, we did record a podcast wrapping up the information released at this year's E3. However, we did come upon numerous issues when recording the latest episode. Because of this we had to save the newest installment as a .WMV file instead of the usual .mp3. Due to this change in format, the podcast is not availible on iTunes for the moment, but is availible on our Jellycast site: http://www.artificialcontinuum.jellycast.com.

That's right everyone. The Artificial Continuum Podcast is now back in business. Our new hosting site: jellycast.com. We will also be opening up under a new name in the iTunes store: The Artificial Continuum Podcast (as opposed to the original Artificial Continuum). This update includes a perviously missing episode, and will hopefully be updated much more often with numerous different series.

Thank you for your patience!

Nick

Hey Guys,

This is leader and creator of Artificial Continuum, Nick. Here to give you an update on what has been going on behind the scenes of AC. As many of you know, our podcast has recently run into some hosting issues. I am pleased to announce that we should have a new hosting site and have a BRAND NEW podcast up on iTunes. All the old podcasts will be availible including a previously unheard episode from April. Also, with this new hosting site I plan to include numerous other smaller podcasts in addition to the main AC cast. These may include podcasts run by other staffers and may be updated more regularly then the main cast. Anna and I have also begun talks with starting up a YouTube channel for our site. Overall, its an exciting time for the site, and I cant wait to show you what we have in store.
It's the first day of Summer! Yay! Let's celebrate this occasion with a feature that would have appeared today regardless of what the date was!.....Anyways, here's your web videos.

1. Boob Drum
--------------------------------------------------------------------

This video has been making the rounds lately, and to be honest it's sort of creepy and funny at the same time. I would've loved to be at that party though.

2. Classic Viral: Lost Rainbow Episode
--------------------------------------------------------------

Although this has been revealed to be a fake made by the cast of the show for fun, the hilarity of this innuendo filled clip is classic.

3. Must Love Jaws
-------------------------------------------------------------

Vayabobo is famous on the internet for doing creative redos of classic movies. He's done a homosexual version of Star Wars and a college comedy Ten Commandments. However, my favorite is easily this romantic version of Steven Spielberg's Jaws.

Yes, I know it's not Monday yet, but I have found several videos I would like to use early, and I do not want to forget them by the time I normally do this feature.

1. A Viral Classic Bill O'Reilly Flips Out
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well here's an old web classic. I don't know what drew me back to this video of Bill O'Reilly from Inside Edition freaking out about a teleprompter, but really it's a ton of fun.

2. Funniest Cry Ever
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now I feel awful for laughing at this, but this clip from the televisions how Intervention is just funny. Poor guy. Cries like a wookie.

3. Seinfeld- George Trailer
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This video holds a special place in my heart, not only because I am a fan of Seinfeld, but because my grandfather passed away last night. He was one of the biggest Seinfeld fan's I have ever met, and had almost every episode memorized. This video immediatley made me think of him, and I think it's a fitting AC tribute to a great man.

It's Monday again, and that means, more pointless web videos! Great joke. Everybody laugh. Roll on snare drum. Curtains. Well there are no bad Watchmen references in this batch of videos, but there is some rather funny stuff.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. The Shake Weight

Yes, here's the Shake Weight. Trust me, I'm not the only one out there who found this hilariously perverted. Even Ellen Degeneres commented on this disturbing peice of excercise equipment.

2. Parking Fail

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As much as I hate the internet rapage of the word "fail", that is truly the only word to describe this video of driving at its worst.

3. Orchestra Teacher Freak Out
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This guy is amazing. Seriously, I wish he was my teacher. Even though I don't play an orchestra instrument, I would love to have this guy teach my history class or something. Either way, kudos to him and the student for pulling off this amazing prank.
Monday, April 19, 2010
Yup. Its Monday again. And that means....pointless videos on the internet! Yay! Well not really. At least we have some decent videos this week. We've got rabid dog man, and yes really annoying internet memes.

1. Vicious Dog Man
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well...thats special. Seriously though, I want this guy to guard my front lawn. He's just that awesome...and really freaking scary.

2. Awesome Lost Promo
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yes, I know what your thinking. Really Nick? Another Lost video? But hey, Gene Wilder plus Lost equals epic creepiness. This promo is easily the best the series has ever had.

3. Mudkips..........
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I sunk that low. I have a Mudkip video. But hey, I challenge anyone to sit through this entire video. Seriously. Just try it.
Monday, April 12, 2010
So yes. I got the name for the feature wrong last week. But aren't you proud? I've actually been able to keep working on this feature each week for three weeks in a row! This is a new record of AC! Well anyways, here's my top favorite web videos of the week. Some are old, and some are new, but regardless, their just plain awesome.

1. Scary Mary
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Scary Mary by moviemkr is perhaps the best testament of how clever editing and music choice and completely transform an innocent movie into something very sinister. Easily the best video I've seen in a while.

2. Lost-Rick Roll
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lost is in its final season. About time it got subjected to old internet memes. Lost has fallen victim to the Rick Roll, and its quite funny.

3. Mega Pirahna
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

You thought Megashark vs. Giant Octopus was bad? Asylum Movies is prepared to blow their own creation of awfulness out of the water. Megapirahna looks to be on of the craziest, and worst produced movies of all time. Airing on SyFy this weekend, Megapirahna is poised to take the internet by storm.

What many of you may have realized, we have not posted a podcast in quite some time. While I originally believed this to be partially our fault, the issue seems to fall upon our podcast hosting site. We have recorded two podcasts, since the previous issue, and our site refuses to upload them. We are now in the process of looking for a new site. However, we don't know how long this will take, and how it will affect our previous episodes. Regardless, we thank you all for your patience.
Monday, April 5, 2010
Here's this week's round up of cool viral videos that came to my attention this week. Ranging from April Fool's gags to School Plays to Balloonshop, we have a real treat for you guys this week.

1. Smark-Balloonshop
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh Balloonshop. Possibly the best consistently funny Youtube comedy group,Balloonshop thrives on the bizarre, and the unquestioned. Don't try to make sense of their videos, you will fail.

2. Halo-Bollywood Trailer
------------------------------------------------------------------

Created as an April Fool's Day joke by IGN.com this great trailer mixes Halo with Slumdog Millionare to create an awesome Bollywood movie trailer. I kind of wish this would be made now. Finish the Fight!

3. Scarface-School Play
----------------------------------------------------------------

Possibly the best school play ever made, Scarface the school plays is filled with fake curses, nerf guns, and of course cute kids. Apparently, the play is a staged film and was not actually performed, but that doesn't take away from how much I love this video.
