Samuel L. Jackson has long been an icon in nerd popular culture. Afro Samurai, Pulp Fiction, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Afro Samurai, and now Iron Man, Jackson's blockbuster filmography is one of the most impressive in modern day cinema. His newest role as the Marvel hero Nick Fury, head of the mysterious organization S.H.I.E.L.D., has attracted a lot of press. Whether you like Jackson's performance in the two Iron Man films or not, Fury is here to stay. Marvel has signed on the character for several more films including the upcoming Captain America and Avengers adaptations. Jackson revealed today to Radio Big Boy, that filming for the later would begin sometime next year. He also confirmed that there are talks of creating a film focusing on S.H.I.E.L.D. and Nick Fury. However, without an official announcement from Marvel or Paramount, we cannot judge the validity of Jackson's statements.
