Spider-man is notorious for having scripting issues. The proposed fourth movie went through almost ten drafts before it was canned in the favor of a series reboot. Now, the reboot is getting its own rewrite. The screenplay was originally written by Zodiac writer Jamie Vanderbilt, but now has been handed over for revision to series veteran Alvin Sargent (Spider-man 2, Spider-man 3). What this means for the upcoming recreation of the web slinger is unknown. The new Spider-man film is due for release July 3, 2012.
